PRESIDENTIAL TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTION (TFR)

Please be aware that any flights into Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) may require additional procedures if a Presidential Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is implemented. If compliance with these procedures is not possible, an alternate airport will need to be used.

See below for key points of the TFR and how it may impact your trip.

  • Gateway Airport Requirement: Travelers departing from airports other than the designated Gateway Airports (see list below) must stop at a Gateway (Signature Aviation) for full TSA security screening before continuing to PBI. This process requires passengers and baggage to disembark and undergo inspection. Clients should plan for extra time, as delays caused by other aircraft in line for screening may be unpredictable.
  • Inbound Gateway Airports: Operators flying to PBI during an active TFR must register for security screening at one of five designated gateway airports—White Plains (HPN), Teterboro (TEB), Dulles (IAD), Orlando International (MCO), or Fort Lauderdale (FLL)—at least 24 hours prior to departure.
  • TSA Screening: Screening will be available between 0800-1700 local.
  • TFR Timing: Presidential TFRs may be announced days in advance or imposed with little notice. In some cases, the impact on a trip may not be clear until the day of departure.
  • Advance Notice for Bookings: To accommodate TSA notification requirements and potential screening, bookings for PBI should ideally be made with at least 36 hours of lead time.

Note that these requirements apply only when the President is in the PBI area. Our Owner Services team and Crew will assist you when necessary. If no TFR is in effect, operations proceed as usual.

EU TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

As of February 2025, significant updates have been made to Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) requirements for travelers to the United Kingdom and Europe:

United Kingdom ETA Requirements:

  • Implementation Date: Starting January 8, 2025, U.S. citizens traveling to the United Kingdom for short visits, tourism, or business, including those transiting through UK airports, are required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

  • Application Process: Applications can be submitted online or via the UK ETA app. The process involves providing personal details, passport information, and a photograph. The application fee is £10 (approximately $13). Decisions are typically made within three working days, but travelers are advised to apply well in advance of their travel dates.

  • Validity: Once approved, an ETA is valid for two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. It permits multiple entries, with stays of up to six months per visit.

European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS):

  • Implementation Date: The European Union plans to introduce the ETIAS in mid-2025. This system will require visa-exempt travelers, including U.S. citizens, to obtain authorization before visiting Schengen Area countries.

  • Application Process: Travelers will need to complete an online application, providing personal information, travel details, and answering security-related questions. The application fee is €7 for individuals aged 18 to 70. Most applications are expected to be processed quickly, but it’s recommended to apply at least several days before travel.

  • Validity: An approved ETIAS authorization is valid for three years or until the associated passport expires, allowing multiple short-term stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

These measures aim to enhance security and streamline entry processes. Travelers are encouraged to stay updated on entry requirements for their destinations and to apply for the necessary authorizations well in advance of their travel dates.
